If you follow along on Insta or here on the blog, you ladies know that I recently developed a thing for olive green. Well I firmly believe that it’s the color of the season and we should all be wearing it. If you’re still on the fence about this (totally awesome and flattering) color, make sure to read up a little on it first. Don’t worry, I’ll wait!
Ok now that we are all on the same page as to why we should all be embracing olive green, you might be thinking “Ok Ana Luiza, I’m totally down with the why but what about how?” Well I’m glad you asked! There are tons of ways to wear olive green but I’m only covering 5 different ways today. Make sure to drop me a line in the comments if there is a way you love to wear green too!
1) The Work Dress
Olive green is a safe office color. It won’t cause any distractions as it’s fairly muted but will still have you wearing color instead of your basic blacks. You can find this color in several different work appropriate styles (meaning knee length or longer).
Try it on: dress+heels+blazer/cardigan
2) The Weekend Dress
We all have that one dress that always comes out on the weekends. Well, if you like something buy it in every color just make sure one of those colors is olive green! A solid colored dress acts like a canvas that you can build up from, adding colors and prints as you like. With a weekend dress you could add denim jacket or cardigans, boots or flats depending on your need while still having some color.
Try it on: weekend dress+denim jacket+ankle boots
3) The Fall Jacket
If you only plan on owning one olive green item, let it be this fall jacket! This is an easy way to add a little seasonal color to your casual looks. Not only is it a great seasonal piece but it’s an easy one to add as it’s completely functional as the weather cools
Try it on: jacket+tee+denim jeans+heels
Accessories are a great way to add a little color to your outfit, like I’ve said before, but olive green shoes are really killing it this season. I’ve seen just about everything from strappy sandals to ankle boots to over the knee boots! There are really tons and tons of options on the market right now for all you olive green lovers out there.
Try it on: olive ankle boots+denim jeans+cream colored sweater+floppy hat
5) Skinny Pants
More and more, you can find flattering olive green pants! This is wonderful because 1) it’s another way to wear olive (always a win) and 2) it’s perfect for work and play! These skinny jean style pants are fantastic for fall
Try it on: skinny pant+ankle boots+blouse+denim jacket
How do you wear olive green? Are you as big a fan as I am? Let me know in the comments!
