It’s undeniable that the print that’s taken over the scene this summer is lemon print. Because when life hands you lemons, why not wear them right?! Well if you aren’t completely obsessed yet, here’s a bit more about lemon print that will hopefully get you over the edge!
Why Is Lemon Print So Popular?
Because it’s adorably whimsical! While that may be true, it’s not the only reason lemon print is so popular. Lemon print is a great way to wear yellow without feeling overwhelmed by the color. While I’m a huge fan of wearing (and surrounding myself with) the color yellow, it can be a color many people find difficult to wear. Lemon print dresses gives you a sunny fix without feeling like Big Bird.
How To Wear Lemon Print (and look like an adult)
Sure, whimsical prints are often left to children but don’t let that stop you from wearing this fun summer print. Keep the look grown up by trying a few of these ideas
- bare a little skin – cut outs or keyholes make the print more grown up than a typical sundress
- add a waistline – making sure your lemon print dress has a belt (you can always add your own) that helps defines your waist will help give this print more structure and you an hourglass figure
- only wear a little – rather than wearing lemon print from head to toe, find a shirt or skirt and only wear a little of the print.
- find something different – while you’ll mostly find lemon print dresses, you can also find rompers or accessories that are lemon print. This will also help “adultify” the print and turn change it from Easter Sunday dress to fun summer weekend jumpsuit!
Just like drinking lemonade in the summertime, lemon print is perfect for summer activities like BBQs, picnics, and trips to the beach. You can even pull it into your 9-5 sometimes! See how I did it here
