COATNordstrom (This coat is a fantastic find for only $38 and is back in stock! I love this coat for in-between seasons here in Seattle. So much that I have an entire review dedicated to it. I sized up to a large since I was pregnant when I bought it but a medium would be better now.) // SHIRTold J.Crew (This is a sweet white tee that I’ve had for several years. They came out with a new version this year with lace sleeves instead of eyelet) // CARDIGANJ.Crew c/o (This is a nice staple cardigan for all you ladies who get cold often. I have one of these that used to live at my office during the summer when the AC was blasting. This style comes in a couple of different colors as well as without the eyelet cutouts. I’m wearing a medium.) // SKIRTJ.Crewc/o (I love these pencil skirts and have them in several colors. They fit true to size and have a little give in them so you don’t feel like you’ve been poured into it. They are a staple in my work wardrobe all year round. This exact print also comes in blue gingham. I’m wearing a size 4.) // SHOESJeffrey Campbell (I love these flats but they do slip off my heels for the first 20 minutes of wearing them. These seem like they’d be similar and also come in several cute prints)// BAGPrada (Again, this is a designer item that I purchased second hand. I love Fashionphile for second-hand designer handbags as they can authenticate them and always have very reasonable prices)// SUNGLASSESAmazon (These are some of the only sunglasses I own because for $10 they can’t be beat. Especially by someone notorious for sitting on and breaking sunglasses.)

Happy Monday all! I’m happy to see a new week and get a fresh start after the hot mess that was last week. I think all the exhaustion of the past few months really caught up with me. Regardless of how last week went, the weekend was productive and today is a fresh start.

While these pictures were taken at the famous University of Washington cherry blossoms, the outfit is actually the same that I’d worn the previous day while hosting the J.Crew Spring Dressing event. I fell in love with these colors and fully plan on re-wearing this skirt again for Easter in a few weeks.

J.Crew #2 Pencil Skirt

l seriously love these skirts! I liked them before now but the fact that they help suck in my post-baby stomach makes them an all-time winner in my book. I already own this skirt in maroon, mint green, and in green plaid but when I saw the pink gingham, naturally I figured she needed to come home with me. I’m wearing a size 4 here, which is my normal size. I was certain that I’d have to size up one or two sizes but there is some stretch in the waistband and the fabric is quite forgiving. To all you 9-to-5ers out there, you should check out this skirt if you need a staple pencil skirt.

J.Crew Jackie Cardigan

This is another J.Crew staple that I already own in several solid colors. It’s a classic fitted cardigan that is ideal for tossing into your work bag if your office is overly air-conditioned (Mine regularly feels like the arctic). This one has eyelet cut out details along the front and sleeves that give it a little more of a feminine touch in my opinion. It also comes in a lilacy-pink color, which I almost wore but decided last minute that it would be too matchy-matchy even for me;). At my J.Crew event, I wore the cardigan as a top with a little tank underneath.

Lace Sleeve T-Shirt

The shirt I’m wearing is actually the eyelet sleeve t-shirt from a couple of years ago but they relaunched a very similar shirt this year except with lace instead of eyelet.

J.Crew has a bunch of other options if you are still looking for something special to wear for Easter. Personally, I’m in love with this polka dot shift dress as well as this one. Not in traditional spring colors but beautiful nonetheless. This textured tweed dress is also lovely and comes in a couple of different spring colors. It reminds me of something Kate Middleton might wear. Another shift dress that comes in the happiest sunshine yellow is this stretch cotton dress. Like wearing sunshine. Finally, this eyelet dress is a dress that would be lovely for spring but also for any summer weddings you have coming up. I just started receiving invitations to some this week!

Do you plan out your family Easter outfits? Let me know in the comments. I normally wouldn’t but this year I’m going to use the opportunity to get a decent family photo of the three of us.
Until next time,

  1. I love gingham and that pink skirt is so cute. JCrew had pink gingham pants like that that were adorable, but they sold out in about 2 seconds.

Thanks Julie! You should look into the Boden gingham pants. They are really similar and are I’m pretty sure are actually a little cheaper

  2. I absolutely adore that pencil skirt. How perfect is it for spring? A girl can never go wrong wearing a well structured pencil skirt to work, they are my favorite.
