Gingham Outdoor Blanket

A couple of weeks ago I shared this adorable outdoor blanket on my Instagram. I wanted to share more about it here since I had a couple of questions about it. It has become one of my most used items of the summer.

Ever since the weather finally warmed up, I had been looking for an outdoor blanket that I could use with Teddy in the park. I try to get out of the house with him at least once a day and the park near our house is an easy excursion to get some fresh air. I had first seen these outdoor blankets at Costco but I really wasn’t a fan of how they looked. I know it might seem silly but I know myself and having a cute outdoor blanket means that I’m that much more likely to actually use it.

So off I go on a little Google exploration. I found this black and white striped one on Amazon but thought that the price was a little steep for what it was. The Costco blankets were only $15 after all. Wasn’t there something comparable at a lower price?

Well, more Google searching and a couple of weeks later, I still haven’t found anything that I liked better so I hop back over to Amazon to get the black and white striped outdoor blanket only to find out that it had already sold out. Now, this leads me to the seller’s website and I nearly dropped from my chair.

Not only do they make black and white stripe outdoor blankets but they have BLUE GINGHAM outdoor blankets! I’ve been on a gingham bender all summer long and I knew that I had found the one!

It’s been a couple of months and I’m still so completely happy with my purchase! I keep it in the trunk of my car so that it’s already packed up and ready to go whenever the mood strikes.

These outdoor blankets come in two different sizes, 5×5 and 5×7 feet. I opted for the 5×5 size which is enough for an adult and a baby to comfortably hang out with room to spare. The 5×7 (think of two beach towels laid out side by side) was just more blanket than I really needed but if you have several older children, this might be a better option for you.

While it is pretty substantial in size, these blankets do fold up pretty well. I wouldn’t say it’s really small but it is small enough to fit in the basket of my stroller. Not that it needs to go in there because it has an attached carrying strap – one shoulder strap and another regular small handle.

The print selection is what makes these outdoor blankets so much better than anything else I found on the market. Besides the gingham and striped one there are also a couple of floral prints and a palm leaf print as well.

Suffice to say, the Little Unicorn outdoor blanket has been a huge hit! I’m sure that we’ll keep using it year after year for our excursions to the park and beach.

If you are in the market for an outdoor blanket, I’d highly recommend these ones from Little Unicorn. I obviously can’t get enough!
