Life has changed a lot around here over the past six months. Having a baby and going from corporate 9-to-5er to full-time mom has been a transition. It took about four or five months but now I’m in the swing of things and have a solid routine down. But changes are evident everywhere in my life. From my daily routine to a living room full of toys, it’s pretty clear that I’ve said goodbye to corporate America and have transitioned to a full-time mom.

Nowhere is that change more obvious than in my handbag. What used to be my carry-all to get me to and from work on the bus but it looks a whole lot different now. Goodbye extra high heels and hello baby wipes.

So what makes up a “mom bag”?

Well for me it means a giant tote bag that can carry everything Teddy might need anytime he is away from the house. Oh, yeah and my keys 😉

I’m joking a little but there are certain things that always live in my bag now that I have a baby. But while a ton has changed, there are a couple of things that have stayed the same.

What’s in my mom bag?

Breaks down into two groups, things for mom and things for the baby. Let’s get into it!

1) Diapers and Wipes

This is a pretty straightforward and obvious change. No baby, no need for diapers. A fellow mom told me to always restock your diaper stash whenever you get home. It’s the one thing you NEVER want to be caught without.

2) Spare Clothing

I’ve learned the hard way that I always need to pack extra clothes for Teddy in my bag. I’ve been the lady whose baby is wearing nothing but a diaper in public one too many times and you get some looks. Just a simple onesie is enough right now in the summer but I used to carry a pair of footed PJs in the winter.

Quick tip! Remember to swap out that extra onesie as your baby grows. I needed to use my spare outfit one day only to realize that it was two sizes too small. Whoops!

3) Water bottle

While this isn’t a new addition to my bag, the function has changed. Instead of being mine, it’s now Teddy’s in case I need to mix any formula for him while we are out and about. I still occasionally steal a sip here and there but I try not to use it because I never want to be out with a hungry baby. That’s no fun for either of us (or the people around us).

4) Odds and Ends

I try to keep smaller loose items to a minimum in my mom duty bag. They inevitably sink to the deepest darkest corners of my bag and I have to do some Mary Poppins fishing around to get them out. If you can keep all these items together in a pouch, I think that would be ideal. For now, I’ve settled on having my lip balm inside my wallet, then clipping my keys to my wallet so everything is attached together.

5) Camera

This is another new addition to my day-to-day handbag. Since having Teddy, I’ve been trying to get better about documenting our regular life. He’s growing so fast and I really don’t want to forget anything so I’m trying to capture as much of it as I can. Some days this means I’m carrying my camera around but other days I’ll just take videos and snapshots on my phone to share with my family.

6) Snacks

This is one area where my bag has stayed exactly the same. I must always have some snacks with me, no matter what because hanger is real! Lately, I’ve been tossing a couple Windstone Farms Creamy Peanut Butter Portable Packets into my bag for whenever I need a quick bite on the go.

Before I discovered these convenient and portable packets, I used to carry a small tupperware with a couple of spoonfuls of peanut butter to work with me every day and one day the container popped open in my bag and I had peanut butter all over my stuff. Yeah, I’m never going back to that method now that I have these new convenient packets. They are game-changers!

I joke that peanut butter is a food group in our household because we always are eating it but there is a reason for that. Aside from being amazing tasting peanut butter, of course, Windstone Farms Peanut Butter Packets have 7grams of protein per packet. As a vegetarian, this is a big deal! I can count on this travel-friendly snack to give me some energy and help keep me going so I can keep up with my kid. It’s also really high-quality peanut butter that was made from peanuts roasted right here in the USA (Louisville, KY to be exact).

I’ve had a Windstone Farms Peanut Butter Packet with an apple almost every day this week as a quick mess-free park snack so I’m confident that any other busy, on the go moms will love it too.

Windstone Farms has been family owned and operated for 35 years and you can now get these new Windstone Farms Creamy Peanut Butter Packets at your local Walmart. It will also be available on Walmart Online Grocery. Be on the lookout for a demo at Walmart where you can try the NEW Windstone Farms Creamy Peanut Butter Portable Packets, August 8-10.

Snacks for sure are in my pack. I like the peanut butter packets as a little snack to eat with other things!
