The Best of Ulta’s 21 Days of Beauty

best of Ulta's 21 Days of Beauty

Just a couple days ago, Ulta’s 21 Days of Beauty started! If you aren’t familiar, Ulta’s 21 Days of Beauty each day features special one day only promotions for 21 days. Each day will have a couple of deals on popular beauty/makeup/skincare products. We’re talking 50% off super popular products from high-end brands. Since they let you know what the deals will be in advance, it’s a nice time to stock up on favorites on sale or try something new that you might have hesitated on due to the price tag.

The one catch, of course, is that these are amazing deals on really popular products so things have a tendency to sell out. Make sure to look over the calendar in advance so you can get your choice pieces on sale.

Why I Love Ulta

I remember getting really excited when Ulta first opened here in the Seattle area because they are my favorite store for all things beauty related. I can’t think of anything I dislike about Ulta, to be honest. They have everything you could want, beauty-wise, all in one store.

If you’ve never been to an Ulta, the store is divided in half where one side is drugstore products (your Maybelline’s and Covergirls) and the other side is high-end/high-street brands (It Cosmetics, Nars, M.A.C., etc). Then they also have the same set up for all things hair care, which also extends to beauty tools. It’s a really extensive selection all in one store. Basically take Sephora and Target, smash them together and you end up with Ulta. It’s fantastic.

Not to mention that they have a really great rewards program. As you shop, you rack up reward points that you can actually use towards later purchases. They also send out coupons regularly and occasionally those coupons can be used towards the high-end products that would normally never qualify towards additional discounts.

They also have added a ‘Natural Skincare’ category so you can easily search clean beauty specific items. It’s not as extensive as Sephora’s but I’m happy that they have it at all. Within the category, you can hone down by various skin complaints and/or needs.

Best of Ulta’s 21 Days of Beauty

Ok, let’s get down to business! Here are some of the best deals during the 21 Days of Beauty event, in my personal opinion. You can see the entire list of daily deals here.

September 3rd (today)

Mario Badescu Rose Hips Nourishing Oil
I love a facial oil! I haven’t tried this one but I’ve heard good things. I mean, rose anything is totally in my boat.

September 5th

M.A.C. lipstick in Diva or Creme in Your Coffee
I don’t know when M.A.C. lipstick ever goes on sale. Both of these colors look like good everyday neutrals that would work on most skin tones.

September 7th

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer
This brow pencil is a cult favorite. I’ve gone through several tubes of the stuff and it is popular for a reason. I’ve known people to buy multiples of their color during this sale since it rarely goes on sale.

September 12th

Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara
A
nother super popular mascara. It has a bristle (rather than plastic) brush and gives a whole lot of volume.

Mario Badescu Cleanser
This is a product that I haven’t personally tried but one of my friends swears by it. From the other Mario Badescu products I’ve tried, I can see why these cleansers might be popular

September 13th

Tarte Amazonian Clay blush
These is my go-to everyday blushes. They are mostly clean and last all day. Plus they come in a bunch of colors. I have several and love them all.

September 14th

It Cosmetics Bye Bye Foundation
This is another product that I haven’t personally tried but I’ve heard good things about it. It Cosmetics is a brand developed by dermatologists and plastic surgeons so you know that they are committed to good for your skin products. I’ve loved all their products that I’ve tried so far.

September 19th

Origins Travel & Trial Kit
Clean skincare alert! This is a great way to test out some of Origins’ top-selling products. I love their GinZing Undereye Cream, which comes as part of this kit.

September 20th

It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer
Yet another product that I haven’t personally tried but it’s a mass favorite, especially for people with chronic under-eye darkness. I’ve heard that it’s heavy-duty and takes no prisoners.

It Brushes for Ulta Concealer Brushes
I have one of these brushes and it’s the nicest makeup brush I own. This would be a great way to get a couple and save at the same time.

September 21st

Juice Beauty Anti-Wrinkle Moisturizer
Ending the event with another clean beauty banger! I’ve yet to hear anyone say anything bad about this Juice Beauty Moisturizer. It’s a clean beauty cult favorite but it also comes with a high price tag. Instead of paying $70 (ouch!), you can get it for $35.

Tarte Shape Tape Concealer
This is another concealer that I haven’t tried but it instantly became a favorite when it launched several years ago. It comes in a bunch of colors and can work on anything from acne to under-eye circles.

Other Honorable Mentions aka ‘Hot Buys’

That’s Ulta’s name for this category not mine, fyi. So these ‘Hot Buys‘ are items that are on sale (up to 40% off) for the entire 21 days.

Lipstick Queen Shade Shifter Lipsticks – MK just turned me onto these. She has an entire blog post about these with pictures.

Better Than Sex Mascara – This is a massively popular mascara. It gives a TON of volume in a single swipe.

Urban Decay Minis – buy two, get one. I love these for travel

LORAC Pro 2 Palette – I have the Pro 1 Palette and the texture of these eyeshadows are amazing. So pigmented and soft and easy to use.

Juice Beauty Lipstick – clean lipstick for the win!

Boscia Cleanser and Mask – another clean beauty brand that I use and love! I’ve tried both of these and they are really nice. I’d say I like the cleanser better.
