Checking In

So how’s everyone doing? We’re in week three or four of social distancing and quarantine depending on where you’re located. I know that I struggled a bit last week. I had a hard time concentrating on anything. I was having a lot of emotional swings. I both want to be totally dialed into the news for any latest updates but I also don’t want to hear any news whatsoever. I ended up just watching TV shows and movies that could take my mind off things (Tiger King, anyone?)

Here in Washington we had a shelter in place/stay home orders announced and put in place last week. The Federal Government just announced that social distancing should continue until the end of April. The US now has the highest number of COIVD-19 cases in the world. Overall things seem pretty bleak and I like all of you am learning to adapt and cope with our current situation.

I wasn’t posting on here last week for several reasons. I wanted to take a couple of days (which ended up being a week) and think a bit about how I want to continue with this blog for the time being. It doesn’t feel 100% right to be telling you all about sales and shopping when 3.3 million Americans had to file for unemployment last week. But maybe you do want to know about fun sales? Just to keep things light and totally unplugged from the outside world. Please let me know so I can cater to the content you guys want and need during these times.

I also want to say that I’m counting my blessings more than normal these days. We’ve been so lucky that Andrew has been able to keep working throughout all of this. We have a safe roof over our heads. And most importantly our families have been blessed with good health throughout everything that has been going on and I pray daily that it stays that way.

Here’s to staying home and staying healthy. Thanks for reading this little update. We’ll have some more fun content coming tomorrow but for now I want to leave you with some links/resources that I’ve enjoyed reading over the past week. Love you guys

Links I’ve Been Loving – Quarantine Edition

Here’s a blog post with my favorite podcasts plus some of yours. I’ve been catching up on A LOT of the Be There in Five podcast. I love feeling like I have one of my girlfriends chatting about pop culture at home with me.

If you need some motivational books to get you pumped to turn off the Netflix and off the couch (but trust me, I’m not judging you if you just want to binge comedies right now), this post has four of my favorite motivational books for women

If you need a new podcast or TV show to keep you company at home, here’s the post with all our crowdsourced favorites.

See Anna Jane has a blog post that shares six or seven different ways to wear leggings. I have been using several of her ideas on rotation because I’m not trying to prove anything right now by wearing jeans.

Kelly in the City has a bunch of ideas for work from home outfits that are helping her stay productive-ish

The Fox and She has a post that shares her ideas for how to work from home with a toddler. Thank you Blair! This is what will hopefully allow the blog to start functioning again this week.

The Golden Girl has a whole new #QuarantineLife section of her blog which also includes fun games to switch things up including the BopIt. Talk about throwback
