I wanted to do another How to Wear _____ for today with another item that has been hot for Fall: flannel. There is a certain art to wearing a flannel shirt and not looking like a lumberjack. I think that this is a trend that anyone can rock even if it’s not cold enough where you live to wear flannel without sweating.

Basic
Flannel over a tee or tank. Done and done. It keeps you warm and adds some extra color into your outfit. Rock this simple look with boot or converse for a casual outfit.
Layered Under
Try a flannel rather than a plain white button up under a light sweater. It can add “seasonalness” to your favorite preppy look. Add a statement necklace for a bit of bling and you are both cozy and cute. Try using complimentary colors for sweater and shirt to make the collar colors (visually) pop.
Layered Over
A true Pacific Northwest look. Use the flannel stolen from the man in your life (or bought in a thrift store) as a coat over layered tees and knits. This is an outfit most often paired with hiking boots, bean/duck boots, or rain boots. Don’t forget to grab your warmest wool socks to keep the toes cozy!
Multi Layer
Blending options one and three, this is a great option for layering. It starts with a tank or t-shirt, adds the flannel, and then adds a knit cardigan, and is finished by a coat.
This is my most worn option of the bunch. When the weather is temperamental, this option allows me to peel off or add on layers easily as needed without looking overly bulky.
The Beyonce
In true Queen B fashion, break out some short short cut offs and throw a flannel (preferably red) around you waist. If you are more like me, maybe tone it down to some fierce makeup and heels along with the flannel accent.
