Pre-Travel Beauty Routine

Hi guys!

I’m headed out of town in the next few days and I was thinking about all the things that I do pre-flight to arrive looking my best. I have always wanted to be like the celebrities who skip out of LAX after a long haul flight looking fantastic. However… I tend to look like a hot mess whenever I get off an airplane.

I have recently figured out a couple things that tend to help me not look like I rolled out of bed upon landing. For me it is a mix of beauty treatments and relaxation. Now, I don’t do all of these every time I travel but I try to get a couple of these in prior to jetting out of town just so I can feel (at least a little) like an A-lister

Keep reading if you are interested in seeing how I prep for travel!

Spa Night at Home (aka Being a Princess in the Bathroom)
The night before, I try to separate some time to do a full spa facial at home. I start in the shower using an aromatherapy scrub on my body and a charcoal scrub on my face. After the shower, I will do the whole sha-bang: face mask, toner, serum, teeth whitening. Whatever special princess routine you have, test it out prior to your next flight.

Tanning Time
Either during my princess spa time or a couple days before, I like to apply my self tanner. Doing this a couple days prior to traveling allows time for any mishaps to be taken care of. I will then take a gradual self tanner with me (in a travel size case, or course) to touch up during the trip

Mani/Pedi Combo
If I have time (and money), I love getting a mani/pedi as a little pamper time. For the most part, I do my mani/pedis at home and leave the professionals only for extra special occasions. Before traveling, I will do my nails with my longest lasting polish in neutral colors. It is always a battle to keep my nails from chipping while traveling, hence the long lasting polish, and I like neutral color polish so that it matches many different outfits

Love the Locks
I like to put a little bit of effort into my hair just prior to traveling. Because my hair is quite fine and flat, I will use some volumizing products in the shower and while styling my hair. I like to use a mousse with volume and a little hold, then blow dry it upside-down so that I can get as much volume as possible. That way my hair will look a little nicer than normal when I arrive versus totally greasy and flat to my head. Always remember: the high the hair, the closer to God

How do you get ready before travel?
Let me know if you test any of these out during your next travel time!

And remember when all else fails, big sunglasses hide all sins!

Until next time,
Bon Voyage!
