Eco Fashion Week Runway Show

Hi guys!

On Thursday I had the pleasure to attend the Eco Fashion Week Runway Show here in Seattle! This was my first time ever attending an event like this one, so naturally I was super excited.

The event was a collaboration between Eco Fashion Week and Value Village, celebrating Value Village’s 60th Anniversary. There were two different challenges presented by two designers and three stylists: 68lbs Challenge and the Thrifty Chic Challenge.

In the 68lbs Challenge, two designers were given 68lbs of textiles to create a ten piece line. Why 68lbs? Because that is the amount of clothing that the average American will own and throw out.

In Thrift Chic Challenge, three stylists were each given $500 to Value Village to create ten different looks. Each was given two decades between the 1950’s and the 2000’s to style their outfits after. This was a fun part of the show as most of their outfits were spot on with the era they were representing.
