This past Saturday, I had the pleasure of attending the Value Village Earth Month event in downtown Seattle. Along with some other Seattle bloggers, we were treated to a little eco-friendly pampering at Julep Nail Parlor then went to Westlake Center where Value Village had installed a larger than life sculpture made and filled with almost 1,000 pounds of recycled textiles. All of this was part of their #Reuse4Good campaign that will be going on throughout Earth Month.
The other ladies present and I have committed to donating our used clothes this month (and every month) in order to help minimize the amount of clothing and textiles that end up in landfills. There is no reason to simply toss clothes that you aren’t wearing when you can donate and let someone else benefit! The average American household will throw away 280 pounds of clothing a year. That is an enormous amount of textiles that could be repurposed!
In an effort to minimize the amount of clothing in landfills across America (cause the number is only going up people), I want all of you to join the movement to #Reuse4good and donate your unused clothes. Make a trip to Value Village part of your spring cleaning routine with any of the clothing or household goods that you don’t want lying around.

Check out my Instagram for photos from Saturday’s event.

You can read more about the #EarthMonth event on Diary of This Girl, Crushing on Clothes, The Demure Muse, and Seattle Refined

Do you normally donate, sell, or toss your old clothes?

  4. Loving the individual pieces (such as the striped blazer, bag and your heels) but they look even more amazing together 🙂

Found you via the linkup. I'd love to read more from you, hope we can connect on GFC or social media. 🙂
