Chunky Dutch Side Braid

Evergreen, Evergrey, Everyday
1) Start with a deep side part and brush all your hair over to the opposite side
2) Begin a dutch braid (the outside sections go under the center section while braiding)
3) Incorporate all your hair as you braid downward.
4) Before adding in an elastic, gently pull at each loop of the completed braid to make it look thicker and fuller.
5) Tie the braid off with an elastic and you are good to go!
This has recently become one of my most worn hair styles. You know that I either a) had a bad hair day and want to hide it or b) am trying to go one more day without washing my hair whenever I rock this style. It is super easy, super quick, and always gets compliments. Test it out and let me know what you think!
I’ve also made a quick Youtube video tutorial if you want to watch and learn!

  2. Love it! I cut off all my hair into a bob so I am waiting on it to grow back out for fun dos like this one.

Thanks for reading Kate! I actually learned how to braid while I was growing out my hair from a long bob so don't think that short hair doesn't mean fun styles!

  3. It's a really stylish hairdo. If I had longer hair, I'd have tried it! 🙂

Thanks Aishwarya! Give it a go even with short hair. Braids look really cute across the front of your hairline. I used to have short hair and would do it all the time!

  7. Great timing! I had a mishap last week that left me with four staples in my head. It's in front and awkward. A side braid will cover it and hold it in place all day. I've been fooling around with trying to keep it covered for days. Thanks!
