That Perfect Dress

how to find the perfect summer dress I think I’ve found the dress I’ll be living in this summer! Airy material, great color, and at just the right length, how could I go wrong? Well in the past I have and I’m here to make sure that you don’t. Here are some tips to think about when shopping for that perfect summer dress that will keep you chic all summer long.

  1. Material – It’s summer so thick and heavy materials are out! Think easy breezy chiffon for an airy feel or a sturdier cotton for a more structured but still breathable look.
  2. Length – It’s summer so hemlines are shorter but remember the Pinterphrase “Long enough that they know you’re a lady but short enough to know your a woman” or something like that. Think classy not fresh from the beach. Plus if this is going to be your go everywhere dress you need to be able to respectably go everywhere in it.
  3. Color/Print – It’s summer so have some fun with color. While many “go everywhere” dresses trend to be black or at least a neutral color, during the summer months it’s easier to explore your style palette with some brighter shades. The trick is picking one that, even if it has a print, is predominantly one color. That way it is easier to mix and match with other colors and accessories.
  4. Fit – While you don’t want to look like you’re wearing a sack, I also think that bodycon dresses are hard to pull off in the warmer months. Just think about sweating with a dress plastered against your body. No thank you! Opt instead for either a fit-and-flare cut for the most feminine look or a body skimming sheath dress; both shapes are universally flattering on all body types!
