Why You Should Wear Your Wedges Into Fall

how to wear wedges in fallHey babes! With the Nordstrom #NSale wrapping up next week and ‘Back To School’ signs going up all over, it’s tempting to pack up all your summer clothes and more right along to pumpkin spice lattes, blanket scarves, and over the knee boots. While looking towards the new season may be tempting, don’t pack away everything from summer just yet! Firstly because, you know, August, but secondly there are things in your summer wardrobe that carry over into fall. Today I want to focus on your summer wedges, which are the perfect shoe to keep wearing well into September.

Add height without the pain
Walk tall into your first day of school without the pain and suffering of wearing heels. For all my college girls out there who are about to go on a sorority rush, these are the heels to be running around in all day. You get the look of heels without the discomfort.

Legs for days
And on that note, when you step into a pair of neutral colored wedges you can say hello legs! If you’re a little bit on the shorter side like me, this is a great trick to look, not only a little taller, but also a log leggier. This totally works with jeans but if you want to go in for the kill, try nude wedges and a pair of shorts for your leggiest look yet!

Come in neutral colors
While you can find wedges in fun colors, most styles come in neutrals. This allows them to be super versatile when your picking out your outfit for the day. Go from your bright summer styles to deeper fall tones without switching shoes. Most blue jeans, dresses, skirts, and shorts look great with black or nude shoes so why not add a bit of height to the mix? This black pair by Shop Sugar that I’m wearing are a mix of both black with some fun beading to add interest.

Stay Cool
Here in Seattle, the closer we get to fall the cooler the mornings get. With wedges, you can easily add a sweater or cardigan to your morning look for a little extra warmth but stay cool in the warmer afternoons with an open toe shoe. Just make sure your toenails are painted 😉

Closed Toe Too
If you want to rock your wedges even later into the fall and winter seasons, remember that there are tons of styles that are close toe. A wedge ankle boot is just as chic and stylish as their summer counterparts. See how I’ve styled my favorite Nine West pair here and here
