Fastest Way to Add a Summer Feel to Any Outfit

Hello love! With it being the height of August, I’m reveling in the last little bit of summer weather and summer style that we’ve been enjoying here in Seattle. With that I wanted to share my super duper easy trick to giving your average outfit a summer feel. It’s easy, it’s free, and you can do it with nearly any top you have in your wardrobe. Ready?

All you have to do is tie the front of your shirt.

Told you it was easy! You can do this with a button up or a tee shirt.

If you opt for a button up, simply leave the bottom button (or two) undone then tie a knot for a cute look. Any button up will do but I especially love a chambray or a printed cotton. This is  also a great way to start getting some use out of those fall pieces you picked up during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Cute plaid tops anyone?

With a tee shirt, you can make an instant crop top by gathering the fabric at the bottom and tying a knot. This adds some cute interest to a basic look and is perfect with anything high waisted if you aren’t into showing some skin.

This quick and easy trick will dress down just about any look and always adds some cute detail. Also zero dollars spent on new crop tops! It’s a win-win in my book
