New Beauty Products Worth Trying

long wearing beauty products worth trying

Happy Friday babes! As the featured beauty editor here on Northwest Blonde, I wanted to share a handful of new products that I’be been testing out and loving this past month.

Now we all know I’m a self proclaimed lipstick addict but I was a platinum member of both Ulta and Sephora this past year, so trust me when I say I know my makeup. I’ve tried a lot of duds but I’ve also found a few true gems that I want to share with you

BARE MINERALS MATTE LIQUID LIPSTICK
Starting with my favorite, lipstick! I’m normally not a huge fan of liquid lipstick. I find them too drying and, while they are long lasting, you still have to reapply like a normal lipstick. The only liquid lipstick that I’ve tried and liked was Kat Von D liquid lipstick but it still wasn’t perfect. But then everything changed when I tried this lippy by Bare Minerals.

This AMAZING line of liquid lipsticks are more like mousse than liquid. They apply easily, wear for hours, and you can’t feel them on the lips once they’ve set. I use my normal stay-all-day lipstick routine with these and have had great success! The only con is that there are only 18 nude shades in this full line. However for the holidays, they’ve released a limited edition red shade that you need to get your hands on! It’s so beautiful and will be perfect for all your holiday parties. ( See limited edition shade ‘Naughty‘ on me here).

URBAN DECAY 24/7 CONCEALER
This concealer is the newest product I’ve added to my collection and it was an instant hit. It feels like sacrilege but I like this concealer more than my tried and true Estee Lauder concealer.

This Urban Decay concealer is a chubby stick pencil that blends like a dream but then stays in place once set. You can wear it all over blended out as a quick slap it on and go base, or you can use it as a heavy duty pin point concealer. The only con about this product is that the pencil can be hard to sharpen. I’d love to see a twist up version of the packaging.

REVLON COLORSTAY PRESSED POWDER
After several months using this high end fancy setting powder, I’ve found a drugstore option that is 10 times better product and just so happens to be under $10.

This Revlon pressed powder is the thing of my oily skin dreams. It promises a full day of no shine and I’m happy to say that, while not as great as all the wild claims, it’s pretty darn good. Most days I will start with an all matte face and end my work day with a subtle glow whereas my other powder had me looking greasy by noon. And don’t think that by paying more, you’re getting a nicer product. This $10 pressed powder is milled very very fine and feels wonderful on the skin.

BIODERMA HYDRABIO SERUM
I’ve mentioned before that I have normal to oily skin that still manages to have dry patches in the winter months (say whaaat?) so finding a great moisturizer has been an ongoing battle for me. I’m happy to say that I’ve been using this Bioderma serum for several months now with excellent results.

While it may be heavy for a serum, this is the perfect nighttime layer of moisture that my skin needs. You ladies with dry skin might find that this isn’t enough but for oily skinned babes, it’s just right.

Beating Winter Skin with Clarisonic Mia 2

CLARISONIC MIA 2
I’ve already raved about this little device before but I highly recommend you give this beauty a chance if you haven’t already. I was one of the last people to join the Clarisonic train but it was so worth it! My skin has never been smoother and my pores clearer since I’ve incorporated the deep pore cleansing brush into my daily routine. Read more about the Clarisonic here but you’d be amazed at how much makeup comes off your face even after you though you’d got it all.

What are some of your current beauty favorites? I’m always on the hunt for something new to try!

Until next time,
Ana Luiza

  1. I need to try those Bare Minerals liquid lipsticks! I have a couple that I like pretty well, but I’m always looking for something better. 🙂
