Spring in Seattle

Springtime is my favorite time of year. After a long grey winter, seeing all the flowers and trees blooming just feels like such a balm, like light and hope at the end of a very long tunnel. Maybe I’m being melodramatic but nothing makes me happier than the first weekend of spring when it’s warm (aka pushing 60 degrees), sunny, and everyone takes to the streets.

One of the highlights of spring here in the northwest is having all the flowering cherry trees blossom all at once. It’s natures way of just adding some happiness via pops of pink throughout the city! The main hub for this is at the University of Washington. I went this weekend (as did almost everyone else in the city it felt like) and it was worth the visit. Just being surrounded by a canopy of pink blossoms was divine but the “pink snow” is something else to witness.
