5 Summer Style Staples

Can you believe we are practically in August?! I generally love August because it’s still the best part of summer but I also realized that August is like the Sunday of the months. You love that it’s still the weekend but you know what’s coming next: Monday. In this case, it’s still summer (yay!) but winter is coming!

All that aside, we still have one month of sunshine and warm weather to enjoy. And because it’s summer, I’m taking advantage and wearing all my favorites as often as possible. I’m pretty sure you ladies also have your favorites to wear throughout the summer months so make sure to share with me in the comments!

1) CROSS BODY BAG

I’ve noticed myself reaching for my ol’ faithful crossbody bag over and over in the summer months while it normally sits on the shelf all winter long. Maybe it’s because I only need my wallet, sunglasses, and lipstick while in the winter I have all sorts of extras coming with me at all times.

2) SUMMER SANDALS

When summer is so fleeting (aka if you live in Seattle), you really value any time you get to wear open toe shoes. That’s why these strappy sandals have been worn all the way into the ground. While you may only see them occasionally here on the blog, I’ve worn them at least twice a week for the past three months.

These replacement sandals have also been much loved during these warmer months as they can be dressed up for the office or dressed down for the weekend! You’ve got to love a great pair of versatile summer sandals!

3) COLORFUL SHADES

If you haven’t tested out wearing colorful sunglasses, you still have time! It’s a fun way to spice up your normal sunglasses options and with these $10 pairs (that I own in three different colors) you can have a bunch to mix and match as you please!

4) GO-TO MAXI DRESS

While you can totally wear a maxi dress in the winter time, the summer months is when they are the best grab-and-go option. They are easy to style and almost always breezy in the heat of summer. You can find them in all colors, cuts, and prints too!  I personally love the ease of this black one especially while I was traveling.

5) DEMIN JACKET

I used to think that everyone owned a denim jacket until the other day I encountered someone who doesn’t own one! Run, don’t walk, and get yourself a denim jacket! They are the swiss army knife of jackets and are a MUST in any transitional wardrobe! Perfect for a chilly evening and for moving us into fall when the time comes. I love this one for both price point and style but mine is along the same lines as this one.
