Getting Winter Knits Ready

thanksgiving outfit ideas - old navy flannel - cozy knit vest - katnis huntress vest

Well ladies, it’s that time of year again. Time to break out all those knits because it is cold! If you’ve been a long time reader on here, you know I love a good knit piece, especially around this time of year. I’m about to get a taste of “real cold”, as my husband calls it, this week when we head over the mountains and into the woods to my in-laws for Thanksgiving.

Yes, November in Montana is cold and yes, you better believe I’ll be repeating this entire outfit during the trip. Why do I love it so much?

Basically, because it allows me to layer up without too much fuss or discomfort. These jeans have enough give for additional base layers (both Andrew and I LOVE these ones) plus some cozy socks (more on that next week ;)) and who doesn’t love a casual boyfriend flannel?! These flannels from Old Navy are my favorites with a slightly oversized shape and plenty come in a variety of colors. Perfect for casual lazy days like over Thanksgiving weekend!

You’ll see me wearing a variation of this outfit throughout the winter months: jeans, flannel, knits, and boots. It’s a great combination for those of us who want the warmth with a side of prep.

I also know I’ll be getting questions about this knit vest. It’s a pattern from Two of Wands, a knit and crochet shop I originally found on Etsy. She now has her own site and creates so many beautiful contemporary patterns, you should definitely it check out. I also have this one in a  cream color. It’s like wearing a hug.
