5 Really Last Minute Gift Ideas | Holiday Gift Guide

real last minute gift ideas

Ok, Christmas is Monday, shipping deadlines have passed, and going to the mall is simply NOT an option. What do you do for those last few people on your list? Well here are 5 last minute gift ideas to can pick up over the weekend or even en route to Christmas dinner.

5 Really Last Minute Gift Ideas (without going to the mall)

1) Restaurant Gift Cards

Dinner’s on you! Spoil someone with a nice dinner out to their favorite restaurant by giving them a gift card. Even if you don’t live close enough to their favorite dinner spot to pop in for a gift card (it generally takes all of 10 minutes), lots of restaurants have the option of buying a gift card online that can either be emailed to the gift receiver or printed out and presented to them.

2) A Nice Bottle of Wine or Spirits

Most people aren’t into super fancy wines so a nice bottle of wine may be just the thing to put under the tree. Think this person might need something a little bit stronger? Opt for a nice liquor instead of wine.
At my office White Elephant, the two most stolen gifts were a bottle of top-shelf vodka and a bottle of Kahlua. Whoever bought those gifts were onto something.

3) Coffee Mug & Coffee

Starbucks has the cutest mugs right now so why not grab one as well as a bag of ground coffee or some instant coffee packets and make your own little gift set. I included instant latte and instant mocha packets in my office White Elephant and it turned out to be a hit (but so did the vodka…)

4) Beauty Gift Sets

While high-end beauty brands might require a trip to Sephora, lots of mid-range or drugstore brands are selling gift sets at the grocery store. I’m thinking specifically about these ones from Burt’s Bees but there are others. It also helps that they are already packaged and all you really need is to stick a bow on it or toss it into a bag.

5) Cheese Plate

Not just a plate for cheese, although you should totally include that, but a selection of cheese, jam, and crackers is another quick and easy DIY gift set. Lots of times you can stop at a fancy (or not so fancy) grocery store and they will have everything you need from the cheeses to a cheese board and knife set.

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas weekend ahead of you! Don’t let stress about gifting diminish the magic and reason for the season. I hope that you get to enjoy a wonderful weekend surrounded by family and loved ones. Merry Christmas – xo

Until next time,
