As soon as the weather cools off in the fall, I find myself reaching for burgundy more often. This only intensifies during the holidays. This deep wine shade is simply stunning on all skin tones and wears beautifully however you decide to wear it. So, how are you going to be wearing burgundy this winter? Here are some ideas for how to wear more burgundy outfits this winter.

Yes, You can pretty much wear burgundy head to toe. Go all out or just a hint. It’s an extremely flattering color so you can go ham and not really have any problems. Skirts, like this one, tops, dresses, shoes, tights, you name it, you can wear it!

BURGUNDY > RED

Wearing burgundy is a great option for those of you who want a little festive color but don’t want to wear red. While I’m a fan of wearing a bold color like red, especially this time of year, I understand that big and bold isn’t always the answer. This is where burgundy comes in. It still gives you some color without being black but is much more muted in tone. Consider this your “safe red” to wear to work, work functions,  or other similar occasions.

BURGUNDY MAKEUP

Burgundy isn’t just for your clothes, you can wear it on your face too. My go-to solution for getting more burgundy in my life this time year almost always falls back on lipstick. Lipsticks and blush, even some eyeshadow, is a quick and easy way to wear this stunning shade without worrying if your skirt matches your top and goes with those shoes.

WHAT PAIRS WELL WITH BURGUNDY?

Lots of other fall and winter favorites matchup with maroon. All your neutrals like black, grey, and white, but also some fun prints like leopard and stripes. If you’re feeling more adventurous, burgundy also looks lovely with blush pinks and navy blue.

You can also play with different textures like wools, suede, and leather in burgundy. Because it’s a lighter color than black, it will really enhance any texture beautifully. This is one of the reasons why it photographs so well.

How do you wear burgundy? Let me know in the comments!
