Classic Style Staples That Never Fail Me

I have a post wearing almost the exact same outfit from when I was pregnant. The simple reason is that these are staples that never fail me. Especially right now as my body isn’t quite back to its pre-baby self, I’ve been leaning heavily on this combination to get me through both the day-to-day as well as special events. It’s also an easy combo on my poor baby brain. Seriously not needing to think about what to wear (the fashionista’s dilemma) is another reason this simple combination is a current go-to. I actually wore another very similar variation of this outfit this weekend for brunch and a baby shower.

These dark wash jeans have been a life saver since having Teddy. I almost sold them because they are a size too big for my pre-baby in shape self but now they fit comfortably. Sadly they stretch out a lot after every wear and need to be washed and dried to shrink back down to size. I have an entire post just reviewing them that you can find here

My trusty trench coat is, sadly, starting to show signs of wear and tear these days. I’ve had this trench coat for several years and haven’t given it the love and dry cleaning it deserves and now I’m kicking myself for letting that happen. It’s a great coat that is a spring-summer-fall coat here in Seattle and has seen about five different countries with me. It handles the rain but also the wind fairly well.

The final trio of this tried and true combination is stripes, leopard print, and a pop of red. I feel like they always look good together. I almost always wear them in this format as well: stripe shirt, leopard shoes, red lipstick. It just works every time!
