5 Items from the Nordstrom Sale That I Own and Wear Constantly

So the Nordstrom Anniversary sale is officially open to the public and there are literally hundreds of items on sale. Rather than overwhelming you with a bunch of items that are on sale, I thought that I’d focus on five items that are in the sale that I already own and have been wearing for ages. Sound good? Right, let’s get into it.

Paige Verdugo Ultra Skinny Jeans

My number #1 favorite brand of jeans are Paige jeans. I only have a couple of pairs of them however because they retail for around $200. Yikes! The Anniversary Sale brings the price down to just over $130 which isn’t bad for this brand. They have a bunch of different Paige denim styles available during the sale but this Verdugo skinny cut is my personal favorite. I tend to stick to the Paige Verdugo Ankle style because it has a shorter inseam but if you are taller than 5’5″ (aka my height), these would be the ones for you.
Sizing note: I wear a 27 or 28 in Paige denim. They have some stretch but I find that they do run true to size. The only issue that I have with these jeans is the inseam length but as I said above, I opt for the ‘Ankle’ length to get around that problem.

Madewell Brenner Ankle Boot

These were my only pair of ankle boots for the longest time, which is part of the reason why they are in such bad shape now. I love that these have basically no bells and whistles but are just a classic pair of ankle boots, not too western looking, not too edgy. The profile is almost sleek or streamlined, I’d say so that they have an elongating effect at times. I have a pair in cognac and I’ve worn them with jeans and dresses in the fall.
Sizing note: You’ll want to go up at least half a size in these, maybe even a whole shoe size if you have wider feet. Even with really thin socks, they are a really tight fit.
You can see the Brenner Boot on me in this post.

J.Crew Sweater Blazer

Oh yes, THE sweater blazer is on sale! I don’t shut up about this sweater blazer for a reason. Mainly because I have it in three colors and wear it at least twice a week. Yes, it’s that much of a fantastic addition to my wardrobe. Nordstrom has the new fall color available for sale, it’s a pretty red color btw, but J.Crew has been running some great sales as well so if you want one of the standard colors, check their website too.
Sizing note: this runs very large. I sized down to an x-small when I’d normally wear a small or medium in J.Crew tops. I have a full review of the sweater blazer here.

Hunter Rain Boots

I’ve written at length about Hunter rainboots and whether or not they are worth the money (see that post here). Nordstrom is carrying the ‘Tour’ packable style for $50 off the regular retail price. If you are in the market for a pair of Hunters, I’d go ahead and snag these while they are on sale. The ‘Tour’ style is packable so you’ll be able to travel with them no problem. The only downside is that they are only on sale in two colors. However, one of the available colors is black which is super versatile/standard for rainboots. If I didn’t already own a couple of pairs, one of which is black, I’d probably get these for myself.
Sizing note: I think that Hunter boots run true to size, even with thick socks. However, if you have wider calves, they make a wide calf option that may fit better in the boot shaft than the standard sizing.

j.crew tippit leopard sweater - Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2019 - Northwest Blonde - Seattle style blog

J.Crew Tippi Sweater

I’m actually wearing one of these as I type this out! It’s a classic fitted sweater that you can wear with just about anything. I used to wear mine to work all the time in the fall and winter because I could layer it under a blazer, tuck it into a skirt, you get the idea. They have two of these on marked down during the Anniversary sale, leopard print and a rainbow-striped one. If you want the Tippi sweater in any other color (and I mean ANY other colors), you can check for them here.
Sizing note: This sweater runs true to size. It’s meant to be slightly fitted so you can size up if you want a bit of a looser fit. I wear a medium.
