J.Crew Eyelet Top in New Colors

J.Crew Eyelet Top (runs big, I went down one size) // J.Jill Jeans (love these denim leggings. Yes, you heard correctly! These are actually denim leggings although you’d never be able to tell without putting them on. I have an entire review dedicated to them here) // J.Crew Sweater Blazer (this is the most versatile thing in my wardrobe. I have it in three colors for a reason and wear it at least twice a week. Perfect for both over-air-conditioned offices and mommy life. You can read a whole review here) // old slingback flats (these are old but I found a VERY similar pair from Everlane. They even have the same shade of pink!)

I’ve been loving this top all summer because it makes me feel dressed up even when I’m just wearing jeans. It acts like a plain white tee but is much more feminine and visually interesting than your standard tee shirt. 

The sleeves are also interesting since they have elastic in the wrists. This way you can wear the shirt with long sleeves or push them up and they’ll stay in place, no rolling or bunching required. With the sleeves up, you get a version of the balloon sleeve trend without needing a whole different shirt Granted the ‘balloon’ effect is not super dramatic but it’s enough if you’re just wanting to test out the trend.

J.CREW EYELET TOP | SIZING NOTES

This top runs BIG. I sized down to a small and it is comfortably roomy on me. The fit in the torso is pretty boxy as well, which is another thing to consider. Especially if you aren’t particularly busty, you might want to go down two sizes. 

Also important to note that it’s lined. I can’t tell you how many eyelet tops I’ve crushed on only to find out that it isn’t lined. No thanks. I don’t want to have to worry about what color my bra is when I slip into my favorite shirt. That’s just too high maintenance.

Teddy does pretty well when his normal schedule is thrown for a loop but the poor kid gets worn out by Monday and needs some R&R (aka good long naps) in order to recover.
