Our 2019 Christmas Cards

My red quilted jacket (it’s sold out but there are really similar ones here and here) // my striped long sleeve shirt // my $40 skinny jeans // Andrew’s blue check shirt // Teddy’s puffer coat // our Minted Christmas card design

GUYS! I had the best experience ordering our holiday cards with Minted that I just have to share with you all.

But first, I’m going to take a second to pat myself on the back that I actually got family photos taken. Last year I had to scavenge through all our pictures to find one single decent photo of Andrew and I together (It ended up being just a random selfie.) So this year, I knew that we had to make an actual effort to get a decent photo of the three of us or else it would never get done. It just so happened that my dad also really wanted family photos with all of us together so we were able to make it a date and knock out two Christmas cards with one photoshoot.

You wouldn’t believe the decent shots you can get with a tripod and camera remote! It took about 50 frames but we ended up with several decent options where everyone was looking at the camera and smiling (even Teddy!). Then we took turns taking all the different family groupings and voila! Family photos taken in under 20 minutes in the backyard.

But back to Minted!

I normally would get photo cards printed at Costco but I’m never really happy with how they turn out. The selection of designs just isn’t there. It’s just conveniently close to our house and pretty cheap. However, since this is our first Christmas as a family of three, I wanted to do something nicer. So I started browsing.

I gravitated to Minted as I remember that they had a nice selection of classic designs back from when we ordered our wedding invitations through them. After spending wayyyy too much time looking at designs, I finally found a simple and classic design that I liked and suited the photo we took earlier. One of my favorite aspects of this design? It’s actually a postcard! No envelopes required.

Anyways, that was on Sunday. Like this past Sunday. Three days ago. I’m beyond floored by how quickly our cards got to us! I ordered them on a Sunday night, the cards were printed and shipped out to us Monday, and they arrived on my doorstep on Tuesday. What?! I’ve never received Christmas cards that quickly in December! No joke, we went from no Christmas cards to all our cards being mailed out and checking that off my to-do list in under a week! I’m so happy!

They aren’t paying me to say any of this. I’m just a fan and a super happy customer. If you are still thinking about having photo Christmas cards done this year, go to Minted and see their selection. I promise that you won’t be disappointed!
