It’s MLK weekend here in the USA (I hope that you get a long weekend out of the bargain), which means most retailers use it as an excuse to have a sale.

I have fond memories of MLK weekend because in January 2017 Andrew and I got on a plane and went to Iceland. Yes, we thought Iceland in January would be a good idea. Sigh. I mean it was a great deal that we booked through travel zoo but maybe not the best plan. Sunrise at 10:30 am, sunset at 4 pm, cold as all get out. Ahh yes, it sounds like a great vacation to have in the middle of winter. All joking aside, if you ever do get the chance to visit Iceland, you totally should. We saw the northern lights, swam in geothermal hot springs and ate some of the best falafel I’ve ever had.

But back to the topic at hand and in the title of this blog post. It’s a holiday weekend, which means all the major (and minor) retailers will be having some sort of sale or promotion. I’ve been eyeing spring and summer gear even though I won’t be able to use any of it for months. For me, once the holidays are over, it’s basically spring, right? Right? Anyone? Bueller?

And a couple of last housekeeping notes. Don’t forget to fill out the 2020 Reader Survey if you haven’t already. There is a Nordstrom gift card giveaway for those who fill out the survey. I promise it won’t take you more than a couple of minutes.

Ok, here are a handful of the products I’ve got on my radar. Let me know if you like seeing these “window shopping” posts and if there is any way I can make them better/more helpful for you.

Virtual Window Shopping Vol.6

Madewell Polertec Half-Zip

I’m a homebody at heart but I don’t often dress like it. However, now that I’m home most days with Teddy, I really have noticed that I spend MUCH more time in lounge clothes. Leggings, sweatshirts, tunics, that sort of thing. This half-zip caught my eye because of its color. I like that it seems a little bit nicer than my standard “at-home” clothes, which in reality are also my gym clothes and a little worn down.

J.Crew Pajamas

On that same homebody mindset, I think that 2020 is going to be the year when I invest in really sleepwear. I normally just sleep in leggings and a sweatshirt but the J.Crew pajamas are making me turn over a new leaf. I’m actually kinda particular when it comes to PJs. I like long sleeves with short, which is surprisingly hard to come by. However, J.Crew has this blue ruffled set so I have no more excuses. I’ve also heard so much about their Dreamy Cotton pajamas, that I’m interested in trying those too. Maybe not for sleeping but for lounging?

Old Navy Tunic

Another lounge-at-home-gym-coverup type of item. I found out about this tunic when I was researching Old Navy activewear. It looks like the ideal type of top to wear with leggings or jeans. Super casual so you can wear it to the gym as a cover-up or while running errands afterward. Plus it comes in three different shades of pink (they really had me there) as well as other pretty colors like burgundy and olive green.

J.Crew Rainbow Beach Maxi Dress

Umm, how beautiful is this dress?! I don’t have plans for many beach vacations this year but this dress would make me feel like I was on the beach even if I was just running errands with Teddy. There is also a swimsuit in this print that I also love but I never actually need to wear a swimsuit so there’s no point for me to even contemplate it.

J.Crew Chateau Parka

On a totally different note, this parka has been on my radar for a long while. I love that it comes in bright colors as well as the standard black and browns. I feel like if I have to wear a super heavy winter coat, I might as well wear bright red to counteract the weather.

Cole Haan GrandPro Tennis Shoes

I’m biding my time until these babies go on sale in white. Right now the pink and black versions are on sale for 50% off (whoo hoo!) but of course I have to like the ones that don’t ever go on sale. But one day, I’ll getcha! I found out about these in the fall and they are so so comfortable and lightweight. The box feels almost empty when the shoes are inside. It’s bananas! Go try them on yourself to see what I’m talking about.

Ugg Classic Mini

Uggs are back apparently? I have a pair of Ugg-like shoes that I use as slippers around the house and for when I need to go out to the mailbox or take out the trash. Sadly mine are starting to fall apart so I’m in the market for a new pair. I’ve never actually worn the real things though. Are they worth it? Or can a look-a-like get you the same effect? Let me know
