Matching with My Mini

baby boy valentines day outfit - matching with my son - northwest blonde

On Teddy: Target Valentine’s Outfit // Addidas Crib Shoes
On Me: Uniqlo Sweater c/o (these are really nice and warm cashmere sweaters that you can get for a decent price. I also love the Charter Club ones) // Abercrombie Jeans (I’ve raved about these before but they are such a hidden gem. Stretchy but don’t stretch out, almost always on sale, and come in a variety of inseams. What’s not to love?) // similar red kitten heels

Ok, I feel like boy moms get the short end of the stick when it comes to matching with their kids. While there are plenty of adorable “mommy and me” collections for matching dresses, there isn’t much when it comes to matching with boys. I can’t say that I’m in favor of matching all the time, I like the idea of coordinating occasionally.

My normal go-to for when I want to match with Teddy is a striped shirt, jeans, and Addidas on both of us. It’s simple and sporty and we both already had all the clothes. Easy peasy. Well for Valentine’s Day, my friend Jenn got him this adorable little outfit. I thought it was so cute that I wanted to try and get some pictures with him in it and, of course, couldn’t help but try and coordinate at the same time.

While he looked so freaking cute, it’s another thing entirely to get him to stand still for even a fraction of a second these days. Ahh well. I still love these pictures. A little more about the outfit details

Abercrombie Skinny Jeans

I’ve raved about these jeans several times on here now. They are high waisted enough to suck everything in but still stretchy enough to be comfortable. I also love that these jeans have three different inseam options. I’m wearing the size 27 short and they hit me right above the ankle bone. No rolling or cuffing needed!

Uniqlo Sweater

This is a sweater they sent me as PR years ago when they first launched here in Seattle. It’s a nice thin cashmere that I don’t get enough use out of. I’m wearing a size medium. I also love the Charter Club cashmere sweaters. I think that those ones are actually softer than this Uniqlo one but the Uniqlo one fits a little larger.

Red Kitten Heels

Another item that I’ve had for years that I don’t get enough use out of. They were a birthday gift from Andrew years ago and I wore them a ton at the time. You can see them a lot way back in the blog archives. I think that they are going to be revived in the upcoming years as I spend my life running after Ted.
