Happy Valentine’s Day!!!

Waaaayyy back on my blog, I used to “Share the Love” around Valentine’s Day and call out my favorite bloggers, Youtubers, etc. This year I figured I’d bring it back but in a bigger way. I asked you guys on Instagram to let me know your favorite bloggers, Instagramers, podcasts, books, and tv shows so we could all share the love together. Let me just say that you ladies DELIVERED! Here’s a look at everything you submitted plus my favorites and a little blurb about each (should I have you tell me why you love things next time?) I hope you see some favorites but also find some new gems.

BLOGS & INSTAGRAM

attn.to.details

A San Francisco based blogger who also had a kid around the same time that I had Teddy. She doesn’t post often but when she does it’s golden. Pretty outfits, great backdrops, the works. Her blog isn’t very active so I’d just follow her on social media.

Kelly in the City

My preppy hearted dreams. One of the many Chicago bloggers that I love and follow because #winter, Kelly has a preppy twist that I love. She also regularly features her cute little family for a mash-up of home, lifestyle, and fashion content.

PODCASTS

I have an entire blog post where I shared my favorite podcasts (and yours too). However, there are some new additions that need to be added to that list!

The Dream

Season 1 focused on MLMs and season 2 is all about the wellness industry. It’s a biased viewpoint that they share but I still found it to be very interesting and informative.

Be There in 5

I just recently discovered this podcast all about pop culture but it’s pop culture topics that I enjoy (ie: Instagram, Taylor Swift, Royal Weddings, etc). The host Kate Kennedy talks at length (seriously all the episodes are over an hour-long) about topics that women in my cohort have either experienced or are at least acquainted with – bridal horror stories, app dating, and sorority life to name a few. Favorite episodes: Mormon Mommy Blog Empires, Bridal Tribe, True Love Weights.

Swiping Up

A podcast spilling the tea on the Insta-famous. Basically the ladies of Swiping Up discuss all things bloggers and Instagrammers, namely the “BIBs” Basic Instagram Bloggers. Very gossipy but it’s like you’re sitting around with your girlfriends just chatting.

Dr. Death

From the same people who brought us Dirty John, this podcast follows the story of a doctor out of Dallas who left a string of disabled and dead patients behind him. It’s a bingeable listen so carve out some time once you start it.

BOOKS

Because I read a lot of self-help books, they aren’t always the most fun but you guys have a bunch of great suggestions. You can see my top four self-help books here.

The Power of Habit  by Charles Duhigg

A super fascinating read about habits and how they power our lives and basically everything we do. I particularly liked all his examples and case studies from throughout history. The case of the London Underground fire was a horrific example but really drives his point home. Another more humorous example was with Febreze’s marketing research.

Origin by Dan Brown

I mean who doesn’t love a good Dan Brown novel? By this point in his Robert Langdon series, all the stories follow the exact same pattern and are very predictable but that didn’t stop me from enjoying it regardless.

The Big Short by Michael Lewis

I’m a fan of Michael Lewis’s books. This one was great especially if you’re a little nerdy like me and wish that the movie version of Thet Big Short had gone a little slower and delved into more details.

SHOWS

Neither Andrew nor I are big tv people, so I looked to you guys to share the best shows to watch.

Saturday Night Live

Always and forever my favorite show. It’s the only one that I watch religiously and that is partially possible because a couple of seasons back, they started broadcasting live coast to coast meaning that here on the west coast SNL starts at 8:30 pm rather than 10:30 pm, thank the lord!

The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

Every winter, Andrew finds a new show to watch on Netflix. Sabrina is the one for 2020 and it’s totally ridiculous and I have a lot of problems with it but it’s totally catching too. If you grew up watching Sabrina the Teenaged Witch, this show is nothing like that. It’s more like Vampire Diaries meets Harry Potter with a side of Sabrina.
