My Best Second Hand Fashion Finds (& where I found them)

Ok, on the same thread as yesterday, I wanted to share more about shopping secondhand. I always knew that you could find some amazing pieces for second hand but I didn’t have much experience in getting those winning deals and steals until a couple of years ago. Between Poshmark and local consignment stores, I’ve been lucky enough to find a bunch of great deals on pieces that I love and wear.

I’ve become more and more drawn to secondhand sites over the past several years. The more I learn about fast fashion, the lifecycle of clothing, and textile waste, the more committed I am to buying secondhand. Plus it’s more money in my pocket. So win-win!

Generally, I tend to have the most luck with Poshmark simply because you can search for exact items, brands, styles, colors, sizes, etc with a click of a button. It’s my go-to if I’m looking for an exact item that is sold out, old or just something that I’ve had my eye on but want to explore cheaper options.

Other secondhand sites:

When it comes to designer items, there is a whole other world of second-hand sites to search through. I have had luck with designer pieces on Poshmark but for really high priced items, I’ll generally look on places like Fashionphile or theRealReal. Those sites guarantee authenticity on every item they sell while Poshmark only authenticates items over a certain dollar value.

Higher-end second-hand sites:

Then, of course, there are local consignment and thrift stores. I don’t have a ton of patience for thrift shopping but I do like a well-curated consignment store. I have a couple of favorite places around Seattle but do a Google or Yelp search in your area to find the best spots.

So here are some of my best second-hand fashion finds!
