Woman Owned Small Businesses

This was going to go live on Small Business Saturday but I wanted to make sure that these female-owned small businesses were on your radar ahead of the holiday weekend. All 16 of these women-owned small businesses would be wonderful places to find gifts for people (or yourself) this holiday season.

I’ve broken the list down by category in case you’re looking for anything particular. There’s a little bit of everything from jewelry and clothes to home decor and children’s toys. So without further adieu:

Woman-Owned Brands for Small Business

Jewelry

Lace and Pearls Jewelry

My friend Asa makes the loveliest feminine jewelry that is perfect for every day. You can see one of her necklaces on me here.

Navy Knots

My friend Emily makes boho knotted earrings and wall hangings. They are all made to order and you get to pick the size, color, and metal.

Home Decor & Art

Honey & Hank

One of my favorite hostess gifts are the Honey & Hank cloth napkins. Their Stateside Collection is so thoughtfully and whimsically designed with the silhouettes of the fifty states. Their Black Friday sale has started early and you can get 20% off the entire site.

Daisy Paper Co

Seattle blogger Brittnay from Coco & Blush has started this printmaking business and all her designs are beautiful! I want to get a couple for Teddy’s room (this one and this one specifically)

Madeline Wilson Photo print shop

Local Seattle photographer, Madeline Wilson, has started selling prints! She has stunning photos of the Pacific Northwest, Italy, Panama, Mexico, and more.

Grey Lady Girl print shop

Georgie Morley is a blogger that I’ve been following since I started way back when. She’s since started a podcast and worked as a photographer on Nantucket. She just launched a print shop last week!

For Kids

State of Play Kids

Cute graphic sweatshirts and other clothes for kids plus some mommy and me matching pieces. I love these West Coast sweatshirts and want to get matching ones for Teddy too.

For Love & Littles

Seattle blogger Rechelle just launched a boutique clothing store for kids. You’ll find baby clothes, wooden toys, and some tabletop items all in the prettiest muted tones.

Land of Bebe

Another boutique baby store. This one is chic as heck. I am already planning on getting this placemat for Ted, personalized of course.

Sheltered Co.

I’ve had my eyes on these hand-knotted weighted blankets for several years now. They are handmade in LA using recycled or dead stock fabrics. The founder started making these blankets when she was looking for a weighted blanket for her daughter but didn’t want one with any chemicals or fillers in it.

Clothing

Alice & Wonder

I discovered this Chicago-based shop on Instagram years ago and they have the cutest stuff. They are known for their Sweet Home Chicago series of items

Shop One/Third

Get timeless and chic “third pieces” from Shop One/Third. This is another blogger founded brand. See Anna Jane is a Chicago based mother of three whose background in fashion comes from working at Trunk Club during its startup phase.

Dudley Stephens

Environmentally friendly and stylish fleece clothing for women and kids. Their fleece tops come in every color imaginable and are made from recycled fabrics. I’ve been thinking of splurging on their Cobble Hill tunic style for a while.

Odds & Ends

Simply Bourne wallet

I have a Simply Bourne wallet and it has been amazing at allowing me to be hands-free while running around with Teddy. Especially as a person who used to cram everything I could into my wallet, this wallet and wristlet combo force me to bring only the necessities.

Penny Linn Designs

Want to get into needlepoint? These needlepoint kits have charming and preppy designs and will come with all the supplies you need to do a single canvas. NYC based blogger Krista Robertson started this company during her quarantine.
