Summer is all about wearing white but occasionally it’s nice to wear black. It’s slimming, it’s chic, it’s always a yes! This outfit is a more casual take on leather shorts but still similar to the look that I posted HERE. The black and white stripes plus classic hot red lip always makes me feel fancy and Parisian without fail. They are a classic combo that will never go out of style in my opinion.
These pictures were taken outside the Tacoma Art Museum, another hidden gem of the Pacific Northwest. While the Seattle Art Museum gets a lot of acclaim because it is in Seattle, the Tacoma Art Museum deserves its own moment in the spotlight as well. They just wrapped up a show that featured over 20 Georgia O’Keeffe paintings! That is more of her works together than has ever been shown in the Pacific Northwest before now. They also just inaugurated a new wing earlier this year that is dedicated to the American (Wild Wild) West. Very much worth the trip, if you are planning on visiting the area any time soon.
But back to the clothes!

You look gorgeous!! Black and white are so chic. I typically shy away from black in the summer but you are making me think I need to pull some out. Those leather shorts are FABULOUS! Are they comfortable? Too hot?

Thank you Katey! I really love these shorts and, mind you, I’m really picky with how shorts fit on me since I have a bit of a booty and thighs. I don’t have a problem with heat in these in the summer but here in the Northwest it doesn’t generally get above 75. However this year seems to be the exception.
I know it’s already Fall, but here in Florida I might get a pass to still pull this off. I love, love, love black and white and this is such a cool classic look.
