4 Ways To Make Your Salon Blowout Last

how to make your salon style last

We’ve all been there, you walk out of the salon feeling like a million buck. You’re hair is #onpoint and you’ve got some serious pep in your step. You obviously want to keep this feeling going for several days but how? Well say goodbye to bed head because I’m here to share 5 ways to make your salon blow out last! Ready to feel salon perfect for days on end? Just keep reading!

Your New Magic Weapon

Get ready to meet your hair’s new best friend! Hair stylist extrodinare, Kimberly Marie, taught me this little trick that has changed the game!  First apply your dry shampoo (make sure to give the bottle a really good shake before hand), then blow dry your roots again. You won’t believe your eyes at how good your hair will look on day 2 (…or 3..4?) with this 5 minute magic trick. If you need a new dry shampoo that will rock your world, I highly recommend Batiste or Moroccan Oil.

Revive the Scrunchie

So the biggest killer of salon hair is overnight bedhead. There are several different ways to deal the this but for all of them you are going to need a scrunchie. Yes, I said it, you need a scrunchie.

Scrunchies are the best for maintaining or preserving a style as they are super soft and won’t leave creases in your hair. To keep you blow out looking fresh for days, loosely, and I mean loosely, braid your hair all the way down the shaft and secure it with a scrunchie. If you aren’t one to braid, you can also gently wrap your hair into a low bun and secure with a scrunchie. Opt for a low bun rather than high as a high bun may leave odd kinks in your hair that are hard to hide.

Hands Off

This is the simplest but hardest step. Just stop touching your hair! Once it is styled leave it be. Yes it may feel amazing to run your fingers through the silky smooth strands but every time you do it 1) pulls on any curl you may have causing them to fall flat faster and 2) you are depositing more oils from your hands into your hair. More oil = shorter blowout lifespan.

Take a Day Off

Take a day off from the gym to get maximum blowout life. If you are a true gym rat and can’t stay away (more power to you! Teach me your ways!), then make sure to pin back the front pieces that have the most contact with your face and remember to use your new magic weapon afterwards to liven your hair back up.

What did you think of today’s post babe? Are you are a blowout junkie or just get them done with your quarterly haircut. Let me know in the comments! I love hearing from you gorgeous gals!
