Embroidered Dress You Can Wear to Work

embroidered dresses for work

Embroidered everything seems to be another trend from the 90’s that is catching some serious speed right about now. I’ve been seeing everything from embroidered shoes to jeans to jackets and just about everything in between. The thing about this trend is that it’s not very work wear friendly which, for me, is a problem.

Since I’m a working girl, I tend to shy away from trends that can’t be styled for both work and play. So this week, I set a style challenge for myself: wear embroidery between 9-5.

What I found was 1) I only own one embroidered item and it happens to be this shift dress (I remember owning and lovingly wearing embroidered jeans and button up chambrays back in the day) and 2) adding a button up under this dress seemed to do the trick! Thoughts?

I’ve linked up with Michelle, per usual, and she’s sharing a more casual weekend take on the embroidered trend. However, if you’re up for a style challenge, I’ve shared about 10 embroidered dresses that I think can be made work friendly if you want to stretch this trend a little further (most are under $100). Happy Monday!

What a fun dress! I think I have like one embroidered top and that’s about it but it’s very similar to the style of your dress! Thank you so much for the feature :).
