…And I’m Back!

SWEATER: ancient Forever 21 (similar here currently on sale. These cozy chunky knits make up the bulk of my winter wardrobe and I love that I can find them on sale this time of year.) // JEANS: J.Jill c/o (I have a whole review on these jeans here. I was so happy that I was able to fit back into my regular pants at three weeks postpartum. It really did a number for my self-esteem and confidence). // COAT: Land’s End (This is my oldie but goodie woolen coat. I also have and love this $38 one from Nordstrom. It’s affordable and really great quality.) // BAG: Old Navy (This super affordable tote has gone from my office tote to baby bag. It holds everything I need and I don’t worry about spills, stains, or ruining it in any way). // SUNGLASSES: Amazon (I’ve had these shades for years and love that they are only $10! I’m notorious for sitting on and breaking sunglasses but I don’t have to worry about that with these ones.)

Hello again! It feels like it has been a minute since I’ve been on here and to be honest it’s been more than a minute… it’s been a month. Nothing like having a baby to throw your schedules and routines all out of whack in a serious way. Have that baby early and it’s even worse. The type A planner in me wanted to have a month’s worth of content scheduled and ready to go when Teddy showed up but not so much. Here I was expecting that I’d make it to my due date or later while life had other plans and so here we are. It’s March and I haven’t blogged since February 4th, the longest break I’ve ever taken in my five years of blogging.

But today is all about getting back on track! Now that Teddy is one month and a pattern has developed in our days, I have more confidence that I’ll be able to get back on track here on Northwest Blonde as well as in other aspects of my life (ie: I’m desperate to start working out again now that my lungs have space to function).

One thing that has really helped get me back in the groove of regular life has been fitting back into my regular clothes. As I mentioned in my post-pregnancy shopping list, I only had about five outfits that fit comfortably by the end of my pregnancy. Having “nothing” to wear plus wanting to burn the items that did fit wasn’t a great headspace. Finally having access to all my clothes again really helped me start to feel like myself again. It really is incredible how just getting dressed, even if I’m not going to be leaving the house, can affect my mood.

Since it’s still winter here in the Pacific Northwest, I’ve taken the opportunity to get some wear out of all my favorite winter sweaters. While I’m as ready for spring as the next person, I do love a good cable knit and haven’t had the opportunity to wear any of my vast sweater collection this winter.  I’m looking at the silver lining of having snow in March as a reason to get plenty of wear out of my winter wardrobe in a short amount of time.

Another thing that I’ve happily reunited with are some of my favorite boots! These Sam Edelman boots became a staple for me in the fall but my third trimester included some swelling in my feet that had these beauties out of commission for a while. You can see how I styled them in the fall here. They are still available in the suede version if you’re feeling something a little western for spring. But for real, they are so comfortable! I was still able to wear them all day long while wielding a stroller and baby carrier.

So that’s what has been up with me this past month. Basically trying to remember how to live life but now with Teddy in tow.

What have you been doing? Are you gearing up for spring or are you still in the depths of winter? Let me know in the comments! I can’t wait to connect with you guys again!
Until next time,
Ana Luiza
