So today I wanted to talk to you about the best dress pants ever. I know, just hearing the word dress pant makes me think of uncomfortable two-piece pantsuits that politicians wear. But the pants I’m wearing today are the Jamie pull-on pant from J.Crew Factory and if you like comfortable pants but have to dress up, you need to know about them.

J.Crew Jamie Pant Review

Don’t let the fact that they are dress pants turn you off from the get-go. These pull-on dress pants from J.Crew Factory really were a fantastic find. I don’t particularly like wearing dress pants either but these are so different. I discovered these pants right before I got pregnant and wore them until about 20 weeks so you know I mean it when I say they’re comfortable. They only have elastic in the back of the waistband so they still look polished in the front but are just so stinking comfortable. No clasp or zipper in the front and made from such a nice material. Seriously they are the type of pants that feel like pajamas but are totally office appropriate.

Wrinkle Resistance

The second and major reason I love these pants is that they practically don’t wrinkle. They aren’t advertised as wrinkle-resistant pants but they really should be. For a day at the office, there was nothing I hated more than looking crisp and wrinkle-free when I left the house but being a total creased up mess by the time that I made it downtown. You know those fabrics that wrinkle the instant you sit down in them? These pants are the opposite of that.

I honestly put their wrinkle resistance to the test when Andrew and I went to Europe last year. We each only traveled with a single bag that could fit under the airline seat (this is the bag that I traveled with) and these were one of the only pants that I packed. Let me tell you after a week of being worn and shoved into a weekender bag, the Jamie pants still looked good! I couldn’t believe it. I think that was the moment that I went from a fan of these pants to a cult follower. Here’s a picture of them from our trip.

They also don’t require any ironing. Just wash and dry them like normal and if you pull them out of the dryer reasonable quickly, voila! No wrinkles! Oh and have I mentioned that they are under $40? Yeah, just an added bonus.

Colors

I got these pants in navy but I can see myself going back for more colors. They come in the standard navy, black, and olive but also fun season colors. Last year they had velvet and lace during the holidays. I really wish that I’d snapped up a pair of the black lace ones for work but oh well. Right now for the summer, the special color is white and LEOPARD PRINT!

Sizing & Fit

As far as sizing, I think that they run true to size, if not a little large. I wear a size 4 and they fit me well before and during my pregnancy. I still have about 10-15 pounds of baby weight to lose so they are slightly tighter on me at the moment but not to the point of discomfort or fitting oddly. They also hit me right at ankle length, no hemming required, if I wear them at my waist. Note for sizing: I’m 5’5” and a standard pear shape, size 36B bra, 27/28 in jeans, and (generally) around 140lbs.

So have you tried the J.Crew Jamie pants? They used to be called the drapey pull-on pants if that rings any bells. Whether you are an office 9-to-5er or just need a pair of wrinkle-resistant pants that are super comfortable, I highly recommend these.

Until next time,

Those look so comfy and I love how easy they would be to take from day to night! I love the navy color to wear in spring and summer since it’s lighter than black!
