Blondo Presto Boots Review

blondo presto over the knee boots review - how to wear over the knee boots - northwest blonde - Seattle style blog

Hello and happy Monday ladies! I hope you all had a nice weekend. Andrew’s parents came into town so it was nice to get some time with them. They also got a dose of Teddy which is the whole reason why they came at all. Andrew and I managed to sneak off for a quick Valentine’s date while they watched the little guy. But onto the topic at hand.

Blondo boots! I got a pair for my birthday from my mom and I’ve been wearing them regularly ever since. Since Blondo is a very talked-about brand, I wanted to give you all my $0.02 on one of their most popular pair of boots: the Presto over the knee boots. Long story short? They’ve awesome and here’s why.

Why They are Worth It

I’ve had Blondo boots on my radar for a while now ever since I heard about the brand and that all their boots are completely water and snow proof. Yes, you heard that right. You can have leather boots that are completely waterproof, no extra treatments required!

I can see all you Pacific Northwest girls perking up. Blondo is a Canadian company where people have the same struggle as all of us here in Seattle. It’s cold and wet throughout the winter but you still want to wear regular shoes versus always having rain boots or snow boots all the time. They developed the technology that allows their boots to be waterproof leather and won’t be destroyed by the leftover salt on slushy streets. So you can have your cake and eat it too when it comes to winter boots.

For those reasons alone, I think that these boots are totally worth it.

Now the Presto boots are their popular over the knee style and I’d say that they are great for wet weather and lite winter days. They are ideal for here in the Pacific Northwest if you want to wear normal stylish boots but also want dry feet. I’ve seen a lot of Chicago bloggers also mention how these Blondo boots are great for winter but they are generally talking about how to boots hold up in slush. If you need something that can withstand a Canadian snowstorm, you should check out their cold weather-specific boots.

Fit & Sizing

I wear the Presto over the knee boots in a 7.5 and I have found that they are true to size. I always wear them with Smartwool socks and I’ve never had any issues with pinching or rubbing.

As far as calf width, I’d say that I have fairly average-sized calves for my body and I don’t have any issues getting these over my legs. These don’t have any zipper so you have to pull them straight on and off without any extra wiggle room. That being said, the backside of the shaft of these boots is very stretchy material so they give quite a bit. I found that they are actually easier to get on and off than some of the other over the knee (OTK) boots I own. I always pull my socks over my leggings or pants when pulling these on to help them glide up without taking my pants with them. Which brings me to my next point.

While these boots don’t fall down on me, they do bunch a bit around my ankles. It’s nothing too noticeable and the shaft of the boots stay up as they are quite stretchy. However, pulling my socks up over my pants is also my attempt to help fill out that space to help minimize the bunching. For me, all the other qualities of the Presto boots tipped the scales so that this ankle bunching isn’t enough to make it a deal-breaker.

Price

The Blondo Presto boots normally retail for $200 but are on sale right now for 50% off, making them only $99! Run, don’t walk! I’m not kidding.

These boots are quite popular and don’t often go on sale but since we are getting closer and closer to spring by the day, this is a great time to get these boots at a steep discount and still get some wear out of them before warmer weather starts up again. The only other time that I’ve seen them on sale was around Christmas.

Personally, I always used to get a new pair of boots this time of year since they are always on sale right about now. Also, it’s the point of winter where I’m sick of all my winter coats and boots and never want to see them again. Nice to get some fresh pieces into the mix.

Overall Thoughts

Overall, I’m a big fan of these Presto OTK boots.  I like how they fit, how comfortable they are, and just how incredibly functional they are for a climate like Seattle’s. I have Stuart Weitzman OTK boots and I don’t get as much wear out of them as I’d like because I’m worried about water damage. That just isn’t a problem with these Blondo OTK boots and is a major reason why I keep reaching for them over and over again. Once I’m in the market for a new pair of ankle boots, I’ll definitely be looking at Blondo ankle boots. They have a loyal customer in me now.
