Many of you know, I’ve had an (almost) lifelong love/hate relationship with denim. While we’ve more recently ironed out most of our differences (read more about that here), I’ve now moved on to healing my relationship with white denim.

I’ve written about how white jeans before and how, through extensive and scientific polling (jk), I’ve discovered that for most women wearing white jeans is all about confidence or being self-conscious. But skipping white jeans because of confidence means missing out on a whole bunch of spring and summer styles and we simply can’t have that limiting us, can we?

Ok so, you’ve got the pants, you’re ready to rock the go-to trend in denim for spring and summer, but now you need to create some super stylin’ outfits. Here are five ways to wear white jeans for spring to fit different styles and moods.

ALL DENIM

So, you’re ready to go all in with your new jeans? Try a full Canadian Tuxedo-spring edition with white jeans, chambray top, and dark wash denim jacket. This look lets you play with different colors of denim making the triple threat Canadian tux look a little less Brittney and Justin circa 1999 and more classic spring style.

FEMININE

White jeans and pastel pinks pair perfectly together for a totally feminine look. Add feminine accessories in pastel colors or pretty and delicate prints like paisley or florals to complete the look. Why it works? Well, white is a neutral color that plays well with other and the brightness of the jeans counters the soft pastels.

Here is the perfect look for work (if you can wear jeans) or for the prepster at heart. Pair your white jeans with a nautical stripe top, structured blazer, and a pair of neutral heels. If you want to play with patterns (and because it’s fun), add a little leopard print as well. We all love a pair of leopard print heels, don’t we?

Just because white is a neutral, doesn’t mean that you can’t wear it with other neutrals as well. Pair white jeans with grey knits and black heels for another 9-5 appropriate look or swap out the heels for sneakers for errands and, ya’ know, comfort.

Get your summer time vibes by pairing your white jeans with other bright colors. White jeans plus a sunshine yellow top is a way I like to get a little sun even on a grey Seattle day (we have plenty of those in spring). It’s the perfect way to start transitioning into summer style without being too cold but you can swap out the full length jeans for shorts during warmer months.
