My Favorite Affordable Denim (under $100)

I like designer jeans as much as the next fashionista, don’t get me wrong but spending over $100 on a pair of pants can be a tough pill to swallow at times. At these moments, I like to go to my favorite haunt for affordable denim, Old Navy.

I’ve talked about Old Navy denim on here before but they have become my go-to for affordable jeans. If you don’t know, Old Navy is owned by the same company as the Gap and the Banana Republic, so you can get a similar level of quality denim at a much lower price point. Like under $50, as low as $30 price point. I specifically like the ‘Rockstar’ line from Old Navy.

Old Navy Rockstar Jeans

I’ve found that the ‘Rockstar’ collection tends to have the best styles and fit for my pear shape.

Why? Well, they have three different inseam options: tall, regular, and petite. They also have different rise options including mid-rise (my favorite) up to extra high-rise. I can’t tell you how great it is to easily find mid-rise jeans in stores. The ’90s and the era of low-rise jeans were the worst for me and the hunt for denim.

Old Navy jeans also come in a variety of washes and styles to choose from. You don’t have to deal with super skinny jeans in various shades of blue if you don’t want to. I’ve had success with the Old Navy straight leg jeans. These launched earlier this year and are a great alternative for someone who doesn’t want skinny jeans all the time. You can see my pink pair here and here

For sizing notes, I’m 5”5’, around 130lbs, and wear size 4 in Old Navy denim, 27 in high-end denim.

Other options for affordable jeans

I used to love America Eagle jeans. I’ve moved away from them in recent years as I have a hard time finding non-distressed options. But these jeans are from there and I can’t say enough good things about them.

Abercrombie and Fitch have also been a startling revelation. I’ve more recently had great luck with their skinny jeans. They are a thinner material compared to the Old Navy jeans but they have a lot of stretch to them without stretching out. These jeans will regularly go on sale for $40 making them almost the same price as the Old Navy jeans.

My other sneaky go-to for designer jeans on the cheap is Nordstrom Rack. Whenever I’m looking for a new pair of my favorite high-end jeans, Paige Denim, I always scoured the racks at Nordstrom Rack. You can generally find high-end jeans for around $80. Bonus points if you snag them on red tag sale where you can get additional discounts.

  5. I always love your outfit style and today really hit it out of the ball park for me. Casual, trendy and sassy. I love it. This also reminds me to go to ON for just a plain pair of jeans for casual Friday’s at work, no rips allowed, and I have nothing to wear on those days in the office but also don’t want to drop a bunch of $$$. Thanks for the tip, I’ll head there hopefully before Friday 🙂
