Gal Meets Glam Peyton dress (I’m wearing a size 6. It fits pretty TTS. The waist is stretchy so it has some give to it. You can find more sizes here) // newer denim jacket // Old Navy Wedges (I’ve had these for a year but they brought them back! These are a great value since these wedges are only $30 and are quite comfortable and easy to walk in) // Prada bag (mine is second hand from Fashionphile. They are the best place to get second-hand designer items. If you are looking for a cute pink more affordable handbag, this is a great option)

How long has it been since I posted high quality, non-iPhone outfit pictures for a change!? Three months or so?

Over the weekend I was able to meet up with my friends (masked and distanced, don’t worry) for part of the day and we snapped these photos. I don’t think I can quite express how good it felt to be dressed, made up, and with my friends for the first time in three months. I was just so happy for the rest of the day. It didn’t hurt that it happened to be the first warm sunny day after a week of heavy pouring rain.

But let’s just get into the fun things!

Gal Meets Glam Collection Peyton Dress

This was one of the dresses that I picked up during the Gal Meets Glam Collection sale over Memorial Day weekend. It’s still available for sale both on their site and on Nordstrom Rack. I’m really happy with it. I’m wearing a size 6 and it fits pretty true to size. If you’re not busty you could probably size down since the waist is elastic so there’s plenty of give in the dress.

One other thing that I like is that the buttons are functional. I wish I’d had this dress while I was breastfeeding because it would have been great for that. Also, the straps on this dress are also wide enough that you can wear a normal bra without the straps showing. Nothing worse than getting all dolled up only to be adjusting your strapless bra all day.  And of course, pockets! All the GMG Collection dresses I own have pockets built into them and that is just the cherry on top! They really do seem to think through the entire design and function of their dresses.

Old Navy Espadrille Wedges

I found these last year and raved about them over and over again so I’m pleased to see that Old Navy brought them back again this year! For $30, you can’t go wrong. These espadrille wedges are cheap, surprisingly comfortable, and pretty easy to walk around in. I probably won’t be wearing these to the playground to chase Ted around (lol playgrounds are still closed here) but they aren’t back for a leisurely stroll to brunch.

Newer Denim Jacket

A denim jacket is a staple in everyone’s closet. If you don’t have one yet, what are you waiting for? There are tons of good ones out there. Personally, I’m partial to this one from Madewell. It looks like it’s the perfect combination of cut and wash for a timeless piece that you’ll have for years.

You can also find really great ones for as cheap as $30 at places like Old Navy. They have a bunch of options when it comes to what wash and how much distressing you want in a denim jacket. My friend Megan says that her favorites come from the kid’s section. That way she gets a slightly more cropped and fitted look (and an even cheaper price!)

Prada Saffiano Tote

I think that I’ve been home for so long that all my handbags forgot how I am! Between quarantine and having a toddler, I’m generally shlepping a giant tote bag full of snacks, diapers, wipes, etc around with me when I do leave the house. But this weekend it felt like such a treat getting to pull my favorite pink bag off the shelf. She’s been with me for years now and every year, like clockwork, when the flowers start blooming, she gets dusted off and ready for the season.

I know that a designer handbag isn’t in everyone’s budget. Heck, they aren’t even in mine anymore! But if you are determined to save up for a designer handbag, you can find ones that are ‘like new’ but a fraction of the price on sites like Fashionphile. That’s where I go when I want to find second-hand designer items. You can read more about how I shop second-hand here.

If you’re looking at me like “Ana Luiza, I just want a cute pink purse for spring without using all my rent money!” then I think that this Ted Baker purse and this Kate Spade purse both look a lot like mine, pink, simple, understated, while also being reasonably priced.
